Well, last week was a week in very deed - it is rather amusing that I wondered how much busier it could get. I am tempted to believe that the gods saw my previous entry and decided to test me, or my endurance, more properly.
Everyone at the office has been speaking of last week's incident in Hogwarts since it occurred, not only those responsible for cleaning up the mess, and it has been pressing on my mind exceedingly as well. I must agree that it was not amusing, not simply because of the work that I have begun - I am not saying this to keep up appearances, to be sure. The safety of the children of Hogwarts is always of the utmost importance, and in light of recent, more serious threats, it is no joking matter to cause such panic. Even though no one was in any real danger from Miss Llewellyn or any other werewolf, and the staff of Hogwarts continues to take every reasonable precaution in this matter, howling or causing howling to be heard on the night of the full moon is akin to shouting "Fire!" in a crowded theatre - thoughtless, dangerous, and stupid. Much harm can be done in a moment of panic.
In addition, I cannot help but feel it was, in an indirect way, a sort of racial slur. This cannot be seen as acceptable, not in any way. Werewolves are, by and large, a long-suffering and noble people, and pranks of this sort only fire hatred and fear, and perpetuate the myth that they are all bloodthirsty beasts.
I do not know if the young gentleman accused of causing this mischief is guilty or nay, but if he be, I can only hope he learns a lesson from his experience and emerges a wiser, more accepting individual.
